126 Desert Scene III, near Alamogoda, NM 127 Wet Dry Lake Bed II, near Alamogoda, NM 128 Wet Dry Lake Bed III, near Alamogoda, NM 129 Tiretracks at Parking Area, White Sands, NM -- Okay ... so I am chasing a setting sun and really needing to pee, but time is of the essence so doing the latter will forfeit my chances to shoot the dunes! So I finally arrive at this deserted (hmm, literally too) parking area, grab up the two cameras, hop out of the car, look around and see it's clear, and get ready to do it. It's right about at the fly and go step of the process I hear a sound and look up at a dune holding about 40 camera pointing Japanese tourist directly behind me! I mumble a swift 130 Sand and Clouds, White Sands, NM 131 Tire tracks and Dunes in Infrared, White Sands, NM 132 Clouds and Dunes in Infrared, White Sands, NM 133 A Crashing Wave of Sand, White Sands, NM -- What drew me to this scene was the way the dunes looked like a rolling wave landing on a beach. Since I was chasing the sunset I was shooting quickly at things that caught my eye and completely missed noticing the two tiny beach shovels abandoned it the bottom of the image! Part of me hates that I was so rushed to miss noticing it -- I'd have shot more than this single frame with them -- but I also love it when something you shoot reveals a mini-treasure spot within its confines. 134 Silhouettes on Sand, White Sands, NM
